The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition gives sessions to children and their families to promote the adoption of healthy habits.

The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition has collaborated with the CRA "Diego Marín", of Peñaranda de Duero, in its health project "Eat well, move more and feel better". The program, which this year has reached its tenth edition, seeks promote healthy habits among children and young people, with a balanced diet, the internship of physical activity and a project educational oriented to the acquisition of healthy eating habits.

This partnership has taken the form of a talk for the families of Education infant and primary school students, focused on nutrition and health in children. During the session, recommendations were offered, healthy menus were designed and hidden sugar in food was discussed.

In addition, sessions were held with students from different grades. With the youngest students, 40 students from Education infants and first and second year of primary school, we worked on the story "El niño que solo comía espaguetis", by Lourdes Campuzano. Through games, they were taught to identify healthy foods, and a movement dynamic was carried out to encourage exercise.

Students from third to sixth grade were given a session on healthy eating.

The conference concluded with a session in Aranda de Duero open to the general public, which was attended by about 80 people. Under the degree scroll "Food and health: an inseparable couple", topics such as metabolic diseases (cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and obesity), the glycemic index in the per diem expenses,and current eating habits were covered. In addition, action plans and nutritional guidelines for a healthy life and a balanced diet were established.
