3,200 students visit the Forum employment
"In the midst of the difficult economic status , companies are still looking for talent and academic preparation," says FEUN director General Manager
The University held today the XXI edition of the Forum employment, an initiative that seeks to put in contact the business world with university students. Around 3,200 students and 30 Spanish and international companies attended the quotation, which took place at the Amigos Building of the academic center.
Cristina Muñoz, director General Manager of Foundation business-University of Navarra (FEUN), emphasized that "the response to the call has been very satisfactory. We have seen that, in the midst of the difficult economic situation status , companies continue to seek the talent and the academic and professional preparation of our students as an investment value".
He also stressed that "it has been especially interesting to see that, among other options, the Program for Initiation to the business (PIE) offered to graduates of the University of Navarra is a product of great acceptance and success for the employment rate. In the last year, more than 50% of the graduates who took a PIE joined a work space".
Mercadona, Europraxis and Mondelez International, among others.
During the meeting, the students got to know the participating companies first hand, including Mercadona, Europraxis, Mondelez International, Banco Santander, Nestlé and Telefónica. They also coordinated selection processes and presentations of different companies during the second part of the workshop.
Carlota Sánchez-Pego, an Economics student, pointed out that the Forum is a "good opportunity, an opportunity to contact financial aid to find out what we can do with our future". Esther Tobío, from business Telefónica, highlighted the participation of "proactive students in the search for employment and with availability to travel".
The Forum of employment of the University of Navarra has become the oldest quotation in Spain in the work of mediation between the University and business. The goal is that students can find out what profiles are in demand by companies, receive guidance, and gain experience to face their employment rate. Firms, for their part, know the most suitable candidates to fill their positions at work.
