Human Nutrition and Dietetics students María Alonso Jaúregui, Víctor De la O Pascual, Noelia Hernández (Pharmacy + NHyD) and Sol Hershey de la Cruz participated this year in the International Health Week 2016, which was held in Leuven (Belgium).

The students of School of Pharmacy and Nutrition, accompanied by Professor Pedro González Muniesa, shared, for five days, their knowledge and experience with students from several countries, including Belgium, Portugal, Austria and Poland, with whom they carried out various activities.

This year the students worked on Healthy Aging in groups composed of students from several countries. The goal consisted of comparing the diet and nutritional evaluation of senior citizens and presenting the results to a group of teachers. "To complement the work", the students relate, "each group chose a recipe for a dish and we were given the opportunity to elaborate it in order to expose its nutritional value and share it with the other groups and teachers".

Also, on the last day they held a meeting with all the countries to taste the most typical foods. "In our case, we brought cold meats, cheese, potato omelette and olives", explain the students, for whom the experience has been "very enriching": "We have shared experiences, customs, cultures and dietary recommendations in an environment where there has been space to get to know the city, visit some restaurants and, above all, meet colleagues from other countries who have our same interest in the field of Nutrition".
