Classes begin at Master's Degree in internship Advanced Oncology Nursing
Classes are held at Campus of the University of Navarra in Madrid.

On September 13, the second edition of Master's Degree in internship Advance d Nursing in Oncology thatSchool Nursing teaches at campus in Madrid began its second edition. 19 students from Madrid, Navarra and Chile attended the inaugural session, which began with words of welcome to campus at position from Fernanda Parias, deputy director of the Madrid campus: "The University of Navarra decided to open a building in Madrid to be closer to its alumni, offering a comprehensive training beyond the classrooms". She also emphasized that this building "aims to be a center with soul, characterized by the creation of spaces of freedom in which the meeting of students and professors is possible".
Afterwards, Ana Choperena, dean of School, did not want to miss the opportunity to personally greet the students: "We offer a training program that goes beyond the classroom. We are committed to the development of knowledge, which you are going to learn in this Master's Degree, to put it at the service of the discipline thanks to the model of nursing that we have in our own Study program". And he congratulated them "for having chosen to continue training".
Nuria Esandi, Vice-Dean of research and postgraduate program, then encouraged the fifteen nurses and the four nurses to take advantage of this academic year: "You are people with a motivation and a restlessness. Because you know that doing the same thing in the same way and expecting different results is foolish." He assured that nursing requires "update the look. Just as a computer needs updated software, so does the nurse, to update, develop and increase your skills and competencies for the benefit of patients and their families".
Finally, the director of the program Master's Degree, Navidad Canga, made reference letter to the profile Advanced Practice Nurse internship as a leadership role and with an impact on healthcare organizations where other graduates of postgraduate program work: "I am convinced that the EPA will help the profession, but I also think that, if we do not train well, we can fail. The training is a fundamental piece for your development". She also stressed that "even if you start now with the Master's Degree, you will continue with your training, because this role is a great commitment for those who are being trained".
After the session, a welcome cocktail was organized and the first classes began.
About the Master's Degree
This Master's Degree trains professionals in a comprehensive manner, in the clinical field of oncology, with the goal of promote radical changes and to promote continuous improvement in the attention and care of patients and their families. The student will be able to make advanced clinical judgments, with skills and attitudes for complex decision making, the performance of consultant functions and to collaborate and work in multidisciplinary teams.
It lasts eleven months, classes are held on Wednesday afternoons and Thursdays at workshop (full day and a half) and has a module of clinical practices that are carried out in hospitals in Madrid and Navarra with which the School has a partnership agreement. The process of Admissions Office for the 2024/2025 course will begin online through Portal My UNAV from October 1, 2023.
