María Calvo Arbeloa, a graduate of the University of Navarra, has obtained 13th place in the last exam spanish pharmacy residency program (Internal Resident Pharmacist). A total of 1,379 pharmacists competed for one of the 239 positions on offer at test .

According to María Calvo, who finished her programs of study in the 14-15 academic year and the double Degree Pharmacy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics in the 15-16 academic year, "the preparation was hard, with three very intense months of classes at the academy and another five months of work at home before the exam".

The Pamplona native emphasizes that she dedicated a average of ten hours a day, resting only on Sundays: "In my opinion, to succeed in an exam like this subject both organization and perseverance are essential".

However, despite this, he did not expect to achieve such a good position: "I did think I would get place, since I had studied hard and the drills at the academy were going well, but to be in such a high position has been a joy".

The exam spanish pharmacy residency program gives access to six specialties whose training takes 4 years: hospital pharmacy (which is the one that offers half of the total places), clinical analysis, Biochemistry clinical, immunology, Microbiology and Parasitology and radiopharmacy (the only one that takes three years). "I'm pretty sure that I will opt for Hospital Pharmacy. It is a field that interested me a lot after doing the degree program and in fact it has been my motivation to take the exam", emphasizes María.

As for the hospital she will choose for her training, she has not yet decided: "I am taking advantage of these days to visit hospitals, contact other residents, and then choose the option that best suits me," says the pharmacist from Pamplona.

A total of 17 graduates from the University of Navarra applied to test , of which 30% obtained place .
