The Ministry of Economics will fund a project of research of the School Nursing
The work, which is part of the academic center's ReNACE Program, will evaluate the Degree coexistence of patients with various chronic diseases.
Validating the "Escala de Convivencia con un Proceso Crónico" (EC-PC) is the goal of a project of research of the School of Nursing of the University of Navarra that will be financed by the Ministry of Economics, Industry and Competitiveness. It is a work that is part of the "ReNACE Program" led by professors of the academic center.
"The changes in the population throughout the 20th century have led to an increase in the prevalence of chronic processes in today's society and, therefore, an in-depth knowledge of how people live with them is essential to provide them with holistic and quality care". This was pointed out by Professor Leire Ambrosio, principal investigator together with Mª Victoria Navarta and Juana Mª Senosiain.
Thus, "our goal will be to find out if the EC-PC is useful in a population of patients with various diseases such as diabetes mellitus or osteoarthritis, among others throughout the country," added the expert.
The "ReNACE Program" (Recovery, Normalization, Acceptance and Coexistence with Illness) is a program of research belonging to department of Nursing Care for Adult Patients of the University of Navarra in which several projects focused on the coexistence of patients and family/caregivers with a chronic illness are integrated.
