The emeritus magistrate of the Constitutional Court, Andrés Ollero, participated in the celebration of the feast of San Raimundo de Peñafort, patron saint of the School de Derecho.

The Full Professor of Philosophy of Law and emeritus magistrate of the Constitutional Court, Andrés Ollero Tassara, has read the discussion paper magistral within the event organized to celebrate the day of patron saint of the School of Law, San Raimundo de Peñafort, which has taken place in the classroom Magna of the Central Building. With the degree scroll, Fundamental rights in times of alarm, Andrés Ollero referred to the two sentences issued by the Constitutional Court against the state of alarm C by the Government of Spain to address the crisis generated by the coronavirus pandemic. "Legal activity is, in a radical way, interpretative", he pointed out.
Ollero analyzed the rulings of the Constitutional Court and some of the issues that had been taken into account, such as whether there had been a violation of fundamental rights, whether the measures established were proportionate or whether a state of emergency should have been enacted instead of a state of alarm.
During the event, the School has delivered the extraordinary awards of Degree in Law and International Office to the students Jesús Mª Escauriaza and Gabriela Fajardo; the extraordinary award of doctorate to Guillermo A. Morales; and the award Francisco de Asís Sancho Rebullida to the best thesis of Civil Law read in Spain between 2018 and 2020, to the professor of the University of Oviedo, Clara Gago Simarro, for her research on donations in hereditary succession.
Clara Gago addressed those present on behalf of all the award winners and wanted to recognize the values that drive academic life: the research, the transfer of knowledge and the training. "It is essential the research in the legal field for the development of progress. To provide answers to health crises such as the one we are experiencing and to face the challenges posed by the digital era," he said.
Clara Gago thanked the University of Navarra for granting her this recognition "which gives her security and confidence in her work" and highlighted the support of her family and the effort and dedication she has received from her director of thesis and former student of the University of Navarra, Camino Sanciñena.
The members of the winning team of the final of the Litis Simulatio, the competition between students of legal content and playful character organized by the School and whose goal is that students learn in a way internship all aspects of a trial, also had their recognition this day of the patron saint . The winners were the fourth year students of Law: Javier Cabezas Rivero, Laura Bartrina Lima, Isabel Nieuwenhuys Ruiz and Pablo Gonzalez Tizón, who, in this mock trial, represented the schools of Education differentiated Peñamayor and Los Robles against the Ministry of Education of the Government of Asturias.
Jorge Noval, Dean , closed the academic ceremony and referred to the three characteristics that drove the project of the University of Navarra and the School 70 years ago: the faith and enthusiasm of the pioneers; the passion for the work and the dedication to the students. Noval urged those present to keep that bequest alive while continuing to promote "the exciting project " of the University of Navarra Law School's School .
Among the attendees were the Minister of Migration Policies and Justice of the Government of Navarra, Eduardo Santos; the President of the Superior Court of Justice of Navarra, Joaquín Galve; the Superior Prosecutor of Navarra, José Antonio Sánchez; the Ombudsman, Francisco Javier Enériz, the Dean of the high school Lawyers of Navarra, Blanca Ramos and the Dean of the School of Legal Sciences of the Public University of Navarra, Rafael Lara.
