Raquel Páramo and Ainhoa Prieto obtain the award for the best internship Leonardo

Recent graduates Raquel Páramo and Ainhoa Prieto have won the first and second award in the fifth edition of the Work Placement Excellence Awards, organized by the Foundation business University of Navarra (FEUN).

Raquel Páramo, a graduate in Journalism from the University of Navarra, has obtained the first award, which recognizes the quality of her Leonardo experience, as well as the work of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) where she carried out this international internship. Stephen Dibiasio, from the OECD, travelled to Pamplona with the winner to receive her award on behalf of the organization.

Tomás Gómez-Acebo, Vice President for students of the University, presided over the awards ceremony submission that took place at Amigos Building. During his speech he emphasized that "Leonardo scholarships reflect two of the objectives of the University of Navarra: internationalization and student employability". He was accompanied by Kristina Monson, coordinator of the international area of FEUN, and Cristina Muñoz Corsini, its director General Manager.

The second award was awarded to Ainhoa Prieto, a former student of the School Pharmacy, whose internship was carried out at the high performing center of the University of Birmingham, in the United Kingdom. Fundación business University of Navarra has also awarded a specialaccredited specialization to the social work carried out by Màrius Gómez, who did his internship at the NGO Fairfood International, in the United Kingdom. NGO Fairfood Internationalin the Netherlands.

During the event, the work of Marie Anne Reynell, recently appointed Director of development of the School of Education and Psychology, was also recognized for her eight years of coordinating the Foundation's international area . During her speech, Marie Anne defined the Leonardo program as "a perfect opportunity to enter the world of work at an international level" and highlighted its importance in the "creation of European citizens and professionals".

Over the past 16 years, Fundación business University of Navarra has managed more than 1,000 Leonardo scholarships in more than 300 collaborating companies. This year, the program is closing its 23rd call for applications to make way for the new Erasmus +. "From the Foundation business University of Navarra we are opening new programs and looking for alternatives to continue offering professional opportunities and training European professionals," said Kristina Monson.
