The laboratory of Adhesion and Metastasis of the research center Applied Medicine (CIMA) of the University of Navarra has obtained the award of the I Contest of knowledge dissemination Scientific Audiovisual, organized by the CIMA and the online TV channel Pharmaimage.tv. The video "Metastasis", 3 minutes long, describes in simple language the work developed by these researchers at the area of Oncology.

"The goal of this contest is to know your passion for the research and to know it through you in an authentic and simple way, in order to have the greatest possible echo", Elena Jiménez, director of Pharmaimagen.tv and member of the jury, transmitted to the scientists. The winners of the award award for the best scientific audiovisual knowledge dissemination received a MacBook laptop computer. According to Dr. Fernando Lecanda, director of laboratory on Adhesion and Metastasis, "it is essential for us to learn how to communicate the work we develop, since what is not known is unlikely to receive support".

The contest has as goal to promote the knowledge dissemination of the research at the University of Navarra taking advantage of the new audiovisual formats. "The media, who know how knowledge and news are transmitted to the general public, have to act as intermediaries: help scientists and teach them how to express themselves and their knowledge in order to easily reach the rest of the people," said Francisco Errasti, director general of CIMA.
