Two scientists from the Cima University of Navarra have been recognized by the ExpertScape health ranking among the 50 most renowned experts in the world in the study of the heart. Drs. Javier Díez and Arantxa González, director and researcher of the Cardiovascular Diseases Program at Cima, are the only Spaniards distinguished in this field.
ExpertScape is an American web platform that identifies and ranks physicians, researchers and institutions according to their medical expertise in more than 29,000 biomedical areas. Its ranking evaluates the scientific output of 115,000 researchers in the study of the myocardium over the last decade.
On the occasion of the American Heart Association's "Heart Month", they have selected the 50 experts with the most relevant contributions in the study of heart disease. "Being part of this ranking is a recognition of the work done for years by the group of Cardiac Remodeling and Heart Failure of the University of Navarra, which investigates heart disease with the goal to guide the diagnosis and the most effective treatment for each patient," says Dr. Javier Diez, director of the Cardiovascular Diseases Program of Cima, co-director of department of Nephrology and researcher of the department of Cardiology of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra.
In reference letter to the scientific activity of this group of research translational, Drs. Díez and González and their team have just published in the scientific journal Nature a review of their experience and contributions to the study of myocardial fibrosis. "We are very honored by the invitation to publish in this prestigious journal, which only accepts authors with a recognized track record in a specific biomedical field," says Dr. Díez.
