The Parliament of Navarre hosts the submission of the third edition of "What is the Parliament for you?"

This year, 13 entries were submitted to the online video contest.

The Parliament of Navarra has hosted the act of submission of the III award of the online video contest "What is the Parliament for you?", a competition called by the University of Navarra under the agreement signed with the Legislative Foral for the implementation of activities in 2014, in what is known as the initiative. Civic Parliament.

The event was presided over by the President of the Chamber, Alberto Catalán Higueras, and by the President of the University of Navarra, Alfonso Sánchez Tabernero, who presented the prizes to the winners at submission .

In this edition, in which average ten schools of the capital of Navarre have participated, the winners have been the group of high school Miravalles-El Redín (Redín headquarters), composed by Francisco Miranda, José Iribas, José María Calonge and Francisco Javier Alfaro (teacher in charge), who with his video "The magic of words", have obtained the first award. Next, high school Maristas obtained the second prize award with the video graduate "The Tourist", made by group of Telmo Zuza, Javier Erro, Adrían Reina, Javier García and Samuel Valderrey Pérez (teacher in charge).

The award consisted of an Ipad for each student of the winning team and an IPhone Touch for each of the members of the other two distinguished teams.

The online video contest "What is the Parliament for you?" is aimed at students from schools and high schools in Navarre, in order to high school diploma of schools and institutes of Navarra, with the aim of promoting civic culture and interest in democratic institutions, expressing, in this case, their vision of the Legislative Foral. The jury, formed by Carlos Gil, head of the Press, Publications and protocol Service of the Parliament of Navarre; Roberto Cámara, director of Navarre Television, and Charo Sádaba, Vice-Dean of postgraduate program and External Relations and Professor of the University of Navarre, has stated the "high level" of the works presented.

In his greeting to the attendees and the winners of the awards, the President of the Parliament of Navarra, Alberto Catalán, highlighted the "considerable quality" of the 13 works presented and recalled that the "fundamental" goal of the contest is "to bring the institution closer to the younger generations". For his part, the President of the University, Alfonso Sánchez Tabernero, highlighted the intricacies of a contest that "leads students to take an interest in relevant issues such as laws, freedoms and rights". The event concluded with the projection of the winning videos.
