More than 200 people participated in the Volunteer Day organized on April 18 by Tantaka, the Solidarity Time Bank of the University of Navarra. Among the participants were volunteers, people with disabilities, representatives of different associations and public schools of Navarra and some members of Office of the Executive Council of the academic center, such as Tomás Gómez-Acebo, Vice President of Alumni and Icíar Astiasarán, Vice President of research.

goal The latter highlighted the importance of the Tantaka Inclusion Program, launched three years ago at the University with the aim of enabling people with disabilities to do an internship in different services of the academic center: "With this program we all win. We have managed to sow diversity, generosity, patience and a host of values that have made campus much more human since then". Thanks to the effort and time of more than a thousand volunteers, Tantaka is able to support 96 associations that meet the social needs of Navarra in areas such as care for children, young people, the elderly, people with disabilities, social integration, communication, administration, management and legal aid. For this reason, Tantaka did not want to miss the opportunity to thank them.

The meeting has allowed the participants to learn about Friedreich's Ataxia disease. Sergio García, under the stage name of Winston, a 27 year old young man who suffers from this neurodegenerative disease, closed the event by playing some of his songs while the attendees enjoyed an aperitif held at the facilities of the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) of the University of Navarra.
