CIMA LAB Diagnostics incorporates a new digital PCR equipment with a great versatility of developments

CIMA LAB Diagnostics has fine-tuned and validated a comprehensive test offering with the new digital PCR (dPCR) kit, QuantStudio Absolute Q digital PCR system from Applied Biosystems (ThermoFisher).

This equipment allows a highly sensitive absolute quantification and a great diversity of applications in the field of diagnostics and research mainly in the areas of oncology, hereditary diseases, gene editing, etc.

According to Dr. Gorka Alkorta-Aranburu co-director of laboratory of Solid Tumors and Hereditary Diseases, he states, "We already have different types of tests in place, from the identification of point variants for liquid biopsy in diagnostics (EGFR, KRAS, BRAF), as well as applications at research including: virus quantification, insert quantification, interspecies ratio and programs of study of expression. With this digital PCR kit, numerous projects can be realized that are already commercially available or we can come up with custom designs."
