Arantxa Meca, awarded the Order of Civil Merit by the King and Queen of Navarre
Professor at the University and C.E.E Isterria, her work as a judo teacher and her work with people with intellectual disabilities is recognized.

Arantxa Meca has been awarded this Wednesday with the Order of Civil Merit. The Navarrese has received this decoration from the hands of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, accompanied by the Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofia, in a ceremony in which her commitment staff and social contribution has been recognized.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the proclamation of the King, the Order of Civil Merit has been awarded to group of 19 citizens "with the goal to express the recognition of the Crown to those who develop their lives and ordinary professional work in an exemplary manner, at the service of society".
A native of Pamplona, Arantxa Meca is a professor of accredited specialization in Education Physical, in the subject of Inclusive and adapted physical activity of the School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra, tutor teacher of Education basic compulsory in the C.E.E Isterria, center dependent on Caja Navarra Foundation. She is also director of department Special Educational Needs of the Navarra Judo Federation, and judo teacher of the Navarra Federation of Adapted Sports.
Through judo, Arantxa Meca has been promoting the development of capabilities and social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities for the last 20 years. She studied the Degree in Magisterio de Education Primary, specializing in Therapeutic Pedagogy at the UPNA. She is a National Judo teacher by the Royal Spanish Judo Federation,
During her professional career, the Navarre native has also been awarded the Silver Medal for Sports Merit by the Navarra Judo Federation (2024), the Silver Medal for Sports Merit by the Government of Navarra (2019), the award for Best Female Athlete, by the Navarra Judo Federation (2014).
