The University creates the Chair Campus Home of Sustainability for the research and social awareness in the care of the environment.

The partnership of the Navarrese business management de Alojamientos Estudiantiles Navarra SL, known as "Campus Home", will make possible the development of this initiative and will promote the training of the young people.

The University of Navarra has launched the Chair of Sustainability after the signature of a partnership agreement with business Navarra management de Alojamientos Estudiantiles Navarra S.L., known as Campus Home. The goal is promote research in subject environmental as well as informative activities for knowledge and social awareness about the care of nature and sustainability. The corporate partnership will allow the development of this academic initiative from its inception for at least the next four years, according to the text of agreement.

After the signature, the director of Campus Home José Antonio Jarillo, expressed his satisfaction with the formalization of this agreement, "which is one more sample of the firm commitment that our corporation has with the respect for the environment. We are convinced that researching and educating new generations about the richness of our natural heritage and the care it deserves will have a positive impact on society as a whole. We want this to be our small contribution to the common purpose ".

Paloma Grau, Vice President of research and Sustainability of the academic center, thanked this partnership and stressed that "business cooperation is essential so that advances in science can be transferred to society. Together, business and university, we will facilitate the sustainable social development that our planet and the people who inhabit it need".

The Chair of Sustainability begins its activity, under the direction of Jesús Miguel Santamaría, director scientist of the high school of Biodiversity and Environment of the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra, a research center for the approach multidisciplinary of questions core topic on nature. The more than 50 researchers who are currently part of high school do research especially on global change, ecosystems, anthropogenic impact on the environment and scientific communication.
