Already/only ten years of MUN

The Museo Universidad de Navarra reaches its first decade and inaugurates a year of celebration next Thursday , January 23 with a commemorative event that aims to pay tribute to the people who made it possible and to the professionals who work at the MUN. In addition, from that day on, the visit to the exhibitions will be free of charge throughout the year, thanks to the MUN's partnership with the Pamplona City Council, to facilitate the knowledge and enjoyment of its Collection for everyone. "We are pleased that in this special year, we have renewed the partnership agreement with the Pamplona City Council, which facilitates the citizenship the free visit to our exhibitions. As this is the anniversary year, it will be a gift for all visitors throughout 2025. What better way to celebrate it than by opening the doors for the enjoyment of the heritage and the experience of contact with art and artists", says Jaime García del Barrio, director general of the MUN.

In this first event on Thursday 23rd, the MUN wants to thank all those people who have made this milestone possible since its origins, as well as to celebrate the anniversary in the company of people and groups that participate in its activity or are linked to it.

Hosted by journalist Amaia Madinabeitia (Navarra TV), it will feature the intervention of the MUN's Director General, Jaime García del Barrio; the President of its board of trustees Promoter, Ángel Gómez Montoro; and the president of the University of Navarra, María Iraburu. In addition, tribute will be paid to the protagonists of this first decade: the families of the founding bequests, Ortiz Echagüe and Huarte; the architect Rafael Moneo; or the members of the founding artistic direction, among others.

To meeting are invited other cultural and artistic entities of the city, teachers of Schools and University centers that develop teaching in partnership with the Museum, students who participate in the artistic training that it imparts (Master's Degree in programs of study of Curator, Symphonic Orchestra, Choir, Plan of training Theatrical, Performing Arts Production Program, Artistic Talent), educational centers that participate in the school programs, associations of the Autonomous Community that participate in the SociARTE Program (that channels the social innovation of the MUN), etc.

At the event, the history of project will be remembered, as well as the most outstanding achievements of the first ten years of the MUN's life: the 60 exhibitions, the plastic and performing artists who have carried out artistic residencies, the 130 publications, the dialogue between art and sciences, the artists and researchers of the University for mutual enrichment, the seventh edition of its Master's Degree at programs of study of Curatorship, the impulse to social innovation through SociARTE, the conformation of an internationalboard of trustees Promoter, a university symphony orchestra, among others.

Also, the presentation of the ÓPEN program at the Teatro Real in Madrid and the second production of young opera in April at the MUN Theater; or the performance of Aterballetto, Italy's national choreographic center and best contemporary dance company in the country and many other opportunities to enjoy and celebrate the anniversary at the MUN.
