The MUN presents its 24/25 school campaign with new educational programs to promote peace, coexistence and prevent bullying.
In the almost ten years that the MUN has been in operation, more than 42,000 schoolchildren have participated in its educational programs.
The University of Navarra Museum 's area de Education presented this morning the school programs for the 2024/25 academic year, which use the approach to art as a strategy professor and which this year present four new features.
1. "Diversity and coexistence. Prevention of bullying", aimed at secondary school and high school diploma, has among its objectives the prevention of bullying and is supported by the General Administration of Peace, Coexistence and Human Rights of the Government of Navarra. 2. "The dance of multicultural emotions" seeks to promote inclusion and emotional intelligence among primary school children student body , with the support of the General Administration of Migration Policies of the Government of Navarra. 3. "Migrant Stories. After Cecilia Paredes and Vik Muniz", for fifth and sixth grades of primary, secondary and high school, invites to think about empathy .high school diplomaThe project "Migrant Stories. After Cecilia Paredes and Vik Muniz", invites to think about empathy towards migrants and the vision of a complex, global and multicultural world through the stories of these two artists; and has the partnership of the General Administration of Migration Policies through Navarra de Colores, of the Government of Navarra. 4. "Just Breathe", focused on all school ages, cultivates the relaxation of body and mind and the emotional management .
The director of the area Educativa, Fernando Echarri, recalled that when the MUN began its educational work, the school environment was soon configured "as one of the pillars". Echarri also pointed out the value of "work in network" with other institutions, such as the General Administration of Human Rights and Coexistence and Navarra de Colores, of the Government of Navarra; and the City Council of Pamplona.
Rocío Ibáñez, president of the Ayllu Service of Intercultural Coexistence and Fight against Racism and Xenophobia (Government of Navarra), explained that Navarra de Colores, through its initiative Escuela de Colores, seeks to promote the reception and prevention of racism and xenophobia, as well as the importance of these programs to learn to "connect with the emotional world of other people" or to promote sensitivity and coexistence at all levels.
For her part, Teresa Barrio, manager of school programs, explained that these proposals have "three hallmarks": promoting the skill learning to learn, the multidisciplinarity (to address different educational processes and content through art), and the development of "creativity or creative intelligence".
The MUN Educational area offers twenty programs, with contents and activities adapted to the LOMLOE and to the didactic objectives of each stage and cycle educational, from 0 to 18 years of age. Everyone - infants, children, adolescents and young people - find a place and a specific offer to live a transformative learning experience through art. The MUN's educational program is renewed every year, and has a consolidated trajectory. In fact, in the almost ten years of operation of the MUN, more than 42,000 schoolchildren have already participated in its educational proposals.
Most of them have done so by visiting the Museum itself, visiting its exhibition halls and enjoying its workshops; but the "little ones" have been able to enjoy the MUN in their classrooms: "El Museo de los peques" is a program designed to be taken to children's schools, with which to work together the three areas of the Education Infantil (Communication and representation of reality, finding and exploration and the environment, and Growth in harmony), through a proposal composed of "Los cuentos del Museo", a book with ten stories associated with each of the paintings of the MUN; the "finding musical" kit, which includes a set of instruments that children can explore and manipulate; and the "Treasure Box" kit, a box of finding with different objects to discover through the senses.
Likewise, the MUN school campaign will continue to promote the value of equality with the program "Women in the Arts". This is a collaborative project , designed for secondary schools, high school diploma and Education special, which covers some of the main moments in the history of art, focusing on the role of women and their evolution as recognized professionals in the world of contemporary art.
The programs, supported by the Government of Navarra and the Pamplona City Council, have their respective notebooks at academic staff. Published in four languages (Spanish, English, French and Basque), they are available for downloading at enquiry .
The event was also attended by José Manuel Santana, pedagogue at area of Culture, Festivals, Education and Sports, Pamplona City Council; and María José Zazo, manager of Escuela de Colores.
On the other hand, during the summer period that has just ended, the MUN has received 150 schoolchildren in the summer camps that, in its tenth edition and under the degree scroll Hi Artist!, bring art and artists closer to the youngest people. This summer activity is a continuity and reinforcement of the learning done during the school year, in a playful way. As a novelty this summer, families interested in combining Art and Science, were able to register together with their sons and daughters in the art and science camps promoted by the University of Navarra, at reduced prices.
