Mental health is everyone's business
A roundtable organized by Alumni Lleida brings together health, Education and public management professionals to address mental health as a social and shared challenge .

Lleida, November 10. About forty people filled this Saturday one of the halls of the Palacio de Congresos La Llotja de Lleida to attend the roundtable "Mental health: challenges and perspectives in today's society", organized by the board Alumni of the University of Navarra in Lleida with the active partnership of the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Terres de Lleida.
The speakers were Montse Pamias, psychiatrist and director of Sant Joan de Déu Terres de Lleida; Belén Resa, psychiatrist at the Children and Youth Day Hospital of Sant Joan de Déu Terres de Lleida; Meritxell Viladegut, nurse, psychologist and professor at the University of Lleida, specialized in psychoeducation and emotional management ; and Albert de Santiago, general health psychologist and PhD student at the University of Navarra, expert in wellbeing and mental health in educational contexts. All of thembrought a diverse perspective and agreed in stressing that emotional wellbeing is not only an individual issue, but a shared responsibility that requires effective coordination between the health, educational and social sectors. The discussion highlighted the need to continue promoting initiatives that bring together institutions, professionals and citizens to consolidate a true culture of dialogue, prevention and community care.
"Mental health is not just a medical issue, it is a way of living together," remarked Juan de Santiago, president of the Chapter of the University of Navarra in Lleida. As he explained, "when society understands that caring for the mind is caring for the community, a change of outlook begins that turns mental health into an element of social cohesion and progress".
For his part, Jackson Quiñónez, Councilor for Sports, Cooperation and Health of the Lleida City Council, highlighted the role of the university as an engine for reflection and connection with the territory: "We are very grateful for the work of the University of Navarra in Lleida for promoting spaces like this, where the University, institutions and citizens can meet to reflect, build and network". The event closed with a networking space that allowed attendees to exchange experiences and establish new partnership links between the educational, health and social fields, with the shared desire to give continuity to the open discussion on mental health in the city.
