Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero, Full Professor of business informatics and president of the association of Friends of the University of Navarra, gave a session on "How to be excellent in the era of artificial intelligence (AI)" at Ibercaja's Xplora space in Zaragoza. He shared with the alumni a decalogue on the keys to the new professional, based on what he considers to be the right question: what AI will not change.
For Sánchez-Tabernero, science and technology are at the service of the common good, and therefore the AI revolution does nothing more than change the "competitive advantage": from muscle to mind. In his opinion, AI poses challenges and generates problems associated with an older generation that may lose value in the labor market by not adapting to the new tools.
"In a polarized and complicated environment to know the truth, it is essential to cultivate intellectual activity". For Professor Sánchez-Tabernero, the solution lies in dedicating time to training, analysis and reinforcing reflective habits. "Man possesses qualities such as love, hope, illusion, generosity or empathy, which AI lacks, and that is what will not change". He also wanted to take the opportunity to question the audience: "Am I contributing everything I can? Because we will be useful if we act with a hopeful spirit, based on our principles, and if we live with a purpose to leave a positive footprint in the world".
