Nearly eighty alumni friends gathered on December 2 and 4 in New York and Washington, D.C., respectively, at two events held at the IESE headquarters and the National Press Club. goal of both events was goal with the alumni community the current challenges and main projects that will shape the University's strategy over the next five years.
The sessions, entitled "Today's Challenges and mission statement ," featured presentations by the president, María Iraburu, the Vice President development, Isabel Olloqui, and the Administrator, Igor Errasti. Throughout their presentations, the three outlined the pillars of the new institutional strategy, focused on talent, science, and commitment to the challenges facing society.
At the opening meeting , the president a phrase that is very much in keeping with the innovative spirit of the city: "Think big and then do it." An invitation that, she said, connects with the ambition of the strategic plan: "Think big, imagine the university we want to be in the coming years, and work to make it possible."
Throughout both sessions, attendees had the opportunity to learn firsthand about projects already underway and others in the development phase development to the knowledge dissemination scientific knowledge dissemination , the creation of scholarships for new students, the update academic programs, the integration of AI into teaching, among others.
The meeting highlight the commitment of the entire university community to carrying out the projects, in which alumni play an essential role. Listening to their concerns, gathering their suggestions, and sharing with them the vision for the future is, as they emphasized, a way to continue growing and keeping the mission statement alive in society.
After the session, a cocktail reception was held where alumni memories of their time at university and discussed the challenges they face in their different fields of work. For many, it was an opportunity to contact the University and with other alumni who now live and work on the East Coast of the United States.
