Tecnun and Ceit their scientific advances at the 5th edition of Tecnun SRC 2026

Last Friday, January 16, the fifth edition of the Tecnun Student Research Conference (Tecnun SRC 2026) was held, where nearly 65 doctorate students doctorate the School presented their research in posters and parallel talks throughout the morning. 

The congress place in the Central Building the Miramón Technology Park and was attended by more than 130 people, including staff researchers from both Tecnun and Ceit. Among the doctorate students doctorate presented, almost 30% are international, coming from various countries such as Mexico, Italy, Tunisia, Mozambique, Pakistan, and Brazil, among many others.

The jury was composed of professors, researchers, and doctorate students from both Tecnun and Ceit. 

For poster presentations, the jury evaluated the elevator pitch, motivation, and presentation of objectives, structure, and coherence, as well as more formal aspects such as the quality of figures, fonts, etc., and finally, responses to questions from the jury.

In the case of the podium sessions, the same guidelines were followed, except that an assessment each doctorate student's oral skills was added. 

Finally, at the closing ceremony, the award best poster to PhD student Adriana Peña Malvé, graduate Manufacturing in Thermoforming: Unlocking New Possibilities for Mold Production," and the award best Podium Session went to Valentine Takudzwa Machaka, for his work entitled "Industrial Control Systems Cybersecurity: An Automated Moving Target Defense (AMTD) Technology Approach."

The deputy director of research Tecnun, Marta Ormazábal, stated that "the congress SRC 2026 congress is an excellent opportunity to learn firsthand about the research carried out at Tecnun and CEIT, presented by their doctoral students."

The deputy director explained that doctorate students doctorate professors, and researchers doctorate "left their usual work spaces work focus exclusively on sharing and learning from this research." 

"This change of environment allows us to put aside our daily tasks, even if only for a few hours, and open ourselves up to learning what other colleagues are doing," he said.
