Inazio, Ignacio Lacarra (FIA’22), an artist and former student the School of Philosophy, was the guest of honor at a very special event organized by the Bilbao board , where more than seventy young alumni friends had the opportunity to reconnect.
The event, held on June 10 in the conference room , began with a conversation between Inazio and María Zalbidea (COM’01), president of the Bizkaia Alumni Chapter, on a topic and cross-cutting topic : music.
The conversation centered on his song lyrics, his creative process, and his sources of inspiration. According to the artist, his music springs from the landscape around him, making it possible to sense a staff quest in each composition. His approach to indie folk blends acoustic melodies with subtle experimental touches, bringing together the classic and the contemporary.
For nearly an hour, there was also an opportunity to delve deeper into his staff journey, during which he recalled a quote from the founder of the University of Navarra, St. Josemaría, who reference letter “the core topic happiness is not a comfortable life, but a heart in love.” Following this, the artist commented that “deep down, we’re creating a comfortable life… and happiness isn’t found there, but rather when you listen to the melody of life, which is wonderful—it can be jarring because there are things that bother us and hurt us, but that’s life; and to give yourself over to it completely, you need to have a heart in love.”
María Zalbidea asked him about his dreams for the future and how he envisioned his path, given that many of the attendees were his contemporaries. In his response, he spoke of two very clear things: “to learn and to have a thirst for learning, to keep an open heart, and to never stand still,” and also “not to be afraid of personal projects.”
After the conversation, Inazio performed a couple of songs in an intimate setting. When he finished, the attendees had the opportunity to spend some time together and enjoy a few drinks.
