III workshop , UNAV-Labormatters Abogados Labor Relations Observatory

As part of the activities planned for 2026 to mark the “ partnership agreement ” (Year of the University of Navarra), as outlined in the agreement signed between the School of Law the University of Navarra and Labormatters Abogados, next Tuesday, October 27, at the schedule from 9:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the 3rd “ workshop ” on the Study and update at Labor Law and Social Security of the UNAV-Labormatters Abogados Labor Relations Observatory. As has become customary, the content of the workshop will focus on various highly topical issues internship in the field of labor relations.

To begin with, led by our Of Counsel Guillermo L. Barrios Baudor, Full Professor of Labor Law and the Social Security Department at Rey Juan Carlos University, and Helena Vilar, an employment lawyer at Labormatters Abogados, we will attempt to systematize the increasingly complex case law regarding the impact of temporary disability and the use of work-related leave on variable compensation systems and on-call/standby premiums ( attendance) as valid tools for combating absenteeism (review of the validity of collective bargaining clauses on variable compensation, the existence of “neutral” leave, guidelines for action, etc.). Next, Macarena Montalbán Gordon, Inspector at work and Deputy Assistant Director of the Subdirectorate General for the Coordination of Labor Relations Inspection, will provide an update—along with our colleague Miguel González-Sama, Inspector at work currently on leave of absence—on the new legal framework for transparent working conditions arising from the recently published Royal Decree 723/2026, of September 9 (entrance now in effect, SEPE instructions to keep in mind, the scope of labor transparency, etc.).

After the break, Carlos González González, a judge on the High Court of Justice of La Rioja, will join Alfredo Aspra, partner Director of Labormatters Abogados, to analyze the growing challenges surrounding judicial oversight of the use of artificial intelligence in the labor and employment context. Finally, with the participation of Faustino Cavas Martínez, Full Professor from Labor Law and the Social Security Department at the University of Murcia, and Beatriz Pinter, an employment lawyer at Labormatters Abogados (Barcelona), workshop will conclude with an analysis of the main practical issues that the introduction of sustainable mobility plans into the work will raise for various business organizations (scope and content, consequences of non-compliance, deadlines to be considered, etc.).
