On September 21 and 22, the Baluarte Conference Center and Auditorium in Navarra hosted the “conference ” for the Pharmaceutical Profession, organized by the Officialhigh school t of Pharmacists of Navarra (COFNA). This annual “ meeting ” event, whose main goal is to raise the visibility and knowledge dissemination of the pharmaceutical profession, was organized in purpose of the upcoming World Pharmacists Day (September 25), which this year is celebrated under the international slogan “Strengthening Health with the Pharmacist. Pharmaceutical Awareness.”

conference has also served as the framework for the presentation of the institutional campaign“Always by Your Side. Pharmacists of Navarra,”an initiative that seeks to raise public awareness of these professionals’ approachability, accessibility, and strong commitment to patient care. The campaign reflects the diversity of the profession, highlighting its essential work in core topic areas ranging from community and hospital pharmacy to public health, distribution, research , and, most notably, teaching.

The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition University of Navarra played an active role in the official program. During the first “ workshop ” on Monday, September 21—dedicated to professional “approach ” through meetings and roundtables discussion on the present and future of the healthcare system—our first- and fifth-year students in the “ Degree ” in Pharmacy attended the sessions. For first-year students, it served as an initial “ contact ” with the realities of the sector, while for fifth-year students, it represented an opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the challenges of the profession they will pursue.

For its part, the “ workshop ” on Tuesday, September 22, opened its doors directly to the public and schools through informational booths and sessions called“Píldoras de Salud.” As part of this series of informational sessions, Diana Ansorena, a professor at our school, led a “ discussion paper ” session focused on nutritional Education and food safety.

During her presentation, Professor Ansorena offered practical tips to help the public correctly interpret food labels, providing a detailed analysis of how to understand the ingredients and nutritional composition of products in order to make more informed, healthy, and safe purchasing decisions. She also placed special emphasis on the importance of learning to clearly distinguish between the expiration date and the best-by date—an essential aspect of health education for preventing health risks at home and combating food waste.

Through this outstanding participation fr professor s and students, the School reaffirms its commitment to the “ development ” of the profession in the Autonomous Community of Navarre, supporting initiatives that—in perfect harmony with this year’s motto—demonstrate that pharmacists walk “always alongside” people’s healthcare needs every day.
