The School of Theology University of Navarra held the 6th “ conference ” on Faith, Culture, and Humanities on August 8, 9, and 10. Underthe degree scroll “Sowers of Peace and Joy,” the event was attended by more than a hundred seminarians and young people from various provinces in Spain, as well as from Ireland and Portugal. The meeting provided an opportunity for them to reflect on peace as both a gift and a calling in the life of a Christian.

The program took as its starting point one of the issues that Pope Leo XIV has emphasized since the beginning of his pontificate: the need to seek and promote peace, understood as a gift from God. The “ conference ” approached this reflection from three complementary perspectives: peace of heart, as a path to re meeting ation with God and with others; the Church, as a leaven of peace and unity; and the world that God has entrusted to humankind to transform through love.

The first session was held at the University of Navarra on Saturday, August 8. Professor Luis Franceschi, former University Secretary attachment of the Commonwealth of Nations, delivered the lecture “Peace in the World: Current Challenges and a Christian Perspective.” Following his presentation, there was time for dialogue with the attendees.

The “ conference ” continued on Sunday, August 9, at the Bidasoa International “ seminar .” On this occasion, Bishop Raimo Goyarrola of Helsinki (Finland) delivered the“ lecture ” titled “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you (Jn 14:27): The Church, a Leaven of Peace and Unity.” As in the previous “ workshop ,” there was a time for dialogue following the “ lecture .”

The program concluded on Monday, August 10, once again held at the University of Navarra, with a presentation by Professor Juan Luis Lorda, emerit Full Professor t of Dogmatic Theology at the University. His “ lecture, ” titled “Peace in the Heart of Man: The Path to Maturity and Holiness, ” focused the final “ workshop ” on the “ staff ” dimension of peace. The session also concluded with a dialogue with the participants.
