University students win 26,885 euros in the Solidarity Study Olympiad

The money raised will be used to support three educational projects in Senegal, Morocco and Ecuador.

The University of Navarra, through TANTAKA, has contributed 26,885 euros to the XVI Solidarity Study Olympiad. The sponsors of the Olympiad, organized by the ONGD Coopera-Cooperación Internacional, will convert each hour of study into one euro to finance three educational projects in Senegal, Morocco and Ecuador.

Through this campaign, in which students from different Schools and schools of the academic center have participated, the aim is to raise awareness among young people about the importance of access to Education in underdeveloped countries.

Of the total hours added by students of the University of Navarra, 24,474 hours correspond to the libraries of campus in Pamplona and 2,411 hours to the study rooms of campus in San Sebastián.

The money raised this year will be used to help expand the "Arco Iris" school in Senegal, located in Saly Velingara, 85 km south of Dakar. Two other projects will also receive support from this Olympiad: one aimed at young people at risk of exclusion in Casablanca (Morocco) and the other at the professionaltraining of young people in the Province of Esmeraldas (Ecuador).

16 editions, 380,000 euros

In the sixteen editions of the Solidarity Study Olympiad held at the University of Navarra, more than 380,000 euros have been raised for cooperation projects in countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico and Togo, among others.
