On February 17, the third edition of the "degree program de los Valientes" will take place, organized by the Sports Service University of Navarra. The solidarity degree program is held for the benefit of Niños contra el Cáncer, whose raison d'être is to help families with insufficient resources to access specific treatments and research to win the battle against this disease.

At the presentation, the Vice President Alumni of the University of Navarra, Tomás Gómez-Acebo, encouraged the university community and all Navarrese to participate in this test in which the important thing is to contribute a grain of support to children suffering from this disease. For his part, the president of the Athletics Federation of Navarra, Rodrigo Dominguez, said that this degree program is "the celebration of running and not so much a route to look for records. It is a festive event and a union against childhood cancer".

The event was also attended by Luis Moro, from Decathlon-Pamplona; Fidel Medrano, from the Osauna Foundation; Osasuna player Javier Martínez; and Marta Lipuzcoa, coordinator of Niños contra el Cáncer.

Four tours for adults and children

The degree program is open to all ages and offers four different routes. Children can register in the 800 and 1,500 meter categories, and adults in the 5 and 10 kilometer categories. In addition, there is the option of collaborating with the Children Against Cancer Foundation by means of the "Dorsal Zero" for those who are unable to attend to the competition.

The circuit, designed by the Navarra Athletics Federation, will be located within the campus of the University of Navarra. Registration is now open.

In the previous edition, more than 900 people raised 7,500 euros to fight against childhood cancer.nNiños contra el Cáncer is a charitable program of Clínica Universidad de Navarra which, since 2002, promotes the research in childhood cancer and supports families so that they can access specific treatments. In the last 15 years it has allocated more than 1,800,000 euros to research projects and to the treatment of 22 children suffering from a tumor, most of them in countries where there is no access to certain treatments.
