A group of theologians of the department of Sacred Scripture of the University of Navarra have responded in video to the 54 frequently asked questions on Jesus Christ and the Church, posed by young people. The pieces are available on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/50preguntas.

The initiative is based on the document 'Jesus Christ and the Church', produced in 2006, which has reached two million downloads, a figure that increases if the translations made for the different language versions are added.

In the text, which has now been transformed into videos, questions are raised such as the current status of the historical research about Jesus; whether Jesus was single, married or widowed; how the Gospels were written; the historical existence of Jesus; who were the Apostles; the Gnostics; the Last Supper, the death and resurrection of Jesus, etc.

Spreading the true figure of Jesus on the Internet

The work consisted of summarizing and synthesizing the most burning issues in a simple way. This was then translated into a document organized into short questions and answers, which allowed download both the questions and the full text.

The authors are the professors of department of Sacred Scripture of the School of Theology Francisco Varo (director), Juan Chapa, Vicente Balaguer, Gonzalo Aranda, Santiago Ausín and Juan Luis Caballero.

The initiative responds to Pope Benedict XVI's request to Catholics to work to spread the true figure of Jesus Christ and the Church on the Internet and its goal was to answer questions that arise today about this topic.
