Ignacio López-Goñi, Full Professor of Microbiology at the University of Navarra, is the promoter of the first Microbiology course taught via Twitter.

Together with 29 other professors from 20 other universities and centers at research, the specialist and disseminator will coordinate the course from April 5 to June 2. Under the label #microMOOCSEM, the contents will be taught in 27 sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 pm (Spanish time) through the account @SEMicrobiology, with a duration of average hour for each session.

Under the umbrella of the Spanish Society of Microbiology (SEM), the experts have created a free "express" course aimed especially at students from high school diplomaThe course is aimed especially at high school students, secondary school teachers, science professionals, journalists interested in this field, university students and the general public.

According to Ignacio López-Goñi, the course will be taught by asking three questions at each class to control the follow-up and interaction of the participants, as well as offering, whenever possible, audiovisual material to reinforce each topic.
