Luis Montuenga and Alfonso Calvo, scientists at research center Applied Medicine (CIMA) of the University of Navarra, and Francisco Esteban, professor at the University of Jaén, have coordinated the book "Techniques in Histology and Cell Biology", published by publishing house Elsevier. Aimed at university students of Biology, Biochemistry , Pharmacy and Medicine -as well as doctoral students and professionals in the field of biomedicine-, it aims to expand the knowledge on the latest techniques used in Cell Biology and Histology.

In addition to the three researchers, 20 experts with extensive experience in Spanish and U.S. centers participated in the work degree program . According to Dr. Montuenga, director of the area of Oncology at CIMA, the new book is essential for understanding the methodology used in specialized articles or for getting started in biomedical research . "The goal is to explain in a didactic and clear way the basics and applications of microscopy, cell cultures, immunohistochemistry or in situ hybridization techniques; cell therapy and tissue engineering techniques, as well as other modern methodologies," emphasizes Dr. Montuenga.

The book includes graphic material with the results of the application of different techniques, as well as drawings and diagrams to facilitate understanding.
