Javier Novo, professor at School , teaches a new MOOC course on the changes that genomes have undergone during evolution.
On January 16 begins the new massive online course (MOOC) How genomes evolvedtaught by Francisco Javier Novo, professor of Genetics of the School of Sciences and which already has nearly 900 registered students on the Miriadax platform.
Divided into five modules with content 100% in English, the course aims to explain to anyone with a background in biology how recent advances in genomics offer new insights into the evolutionary processes that have shaped genomes, from the first living beings to the present day.
According to his manager, the science popularizer Javier Novo -author of the book Genes, microbes and cells (RBA, 2011) - this course "will allow us to explore, in addition, some of the genetic innovations that are supposed to be exclusive to humans. In particular, those that have allowed our brain to reach its incredible level of complexity".
