He takes over at position from Francisco Varo, professor at School of Theology.

Jorge Miras, professor at the School of Canon Lawhas been appointed University Chaplain of the University of Navarra by President, Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero. Professor Miras takes over the position from Francisco Varo, Professor of the School of Theologywho has held the position since the 2010-2011 academic year.
Jorge Miras Pouso is a native of Ceuta (1959) and a priest of the Prelature of Opus Dei since 1987. Doctor in Canon Law and in Law, he practices as Full Professor of Administrative Law Canonical School of Canon Law of the University of Navarra.
He is the author of numerous publications of his scientific specialization program and consultant of the committee Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts. His pastoral activity has focused on the care of university students.
Among his works on spirituality are: To Understand the Eucharist; Face to Face with Jesus in Prayer; Faithful in the World: the Secularity of Christian Laity; Fidelity to God; Celebrating the Mystery of Faith. A catechesis on the Mass (forthcoming).
Francisco Varo (Córdoba, 1955) is professor of Sacred Scripture in the School of Theology, of which he was Dean (1998-2004). He studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, has a PhD in Theology (Sacred Scripture) from the University of Navarra and in Trilingual Biblical Philology from the Pontifical University of Salamanca, as well as graduate in Mathematics from the University of Malaga.
Professor Varo is a member of the team of translators of the Holy Bible at the University of Navarra and is the author of widely distributed works such as Rabbi Jesus of Nazareth (BAC, 2005) and ¿Sabes leer la Biblia? ( Planeta, 2006).
