The School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra and the department of Education of the Government of Navarra have held a summer course entitled degree scroll "The skill digital : European strategy, good practices and assessment".

The workshop, inaugurated by the counselor of Education José Iribas, was attended by Yves Punie and Panagiotis Kampylis, from high school Technology Foresight of the Joint Center of research (JRC) of the European Commission; José María Sánchez Echave and Vicente Alcañiz, from high school Nacional de assessment Educativa; and Antonio Monje, director of the National Center of development Curricular in non-proprietary systems.

"The final goal is to have a better use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the school by the academic staff and the students, but also within the organization of the center. We are talking about a deep, fundamental and necessary change educational , simply because the world is changing. It is a potential that innovation in education offers us and that we are not using", said Punie.

He also gave an example of how this internship makes no sense if it is not applied systemically and throughout the structure of high school: "If we have a teacher who uses very innovative methods in his class, but if the rest of the center and the system educational does not support him, there is not going to be a deep and sustainable change."

In order to carry out this evolution in the system educational, the European Commission's Joint Center research has been working for years on a model applicable to each center, taking into account its particularities, but with a systematic and long-term vision deadline. "The holistic model , which is already applied in Navarra, allows us to design long-term strategies deadline for educational innovations made possible by the use of ICT".

For his part, Panagiotis Kampylis, commented that the model that Europe is working on "is not a rigid proposal " since "each center and environment has its own diversity and its particular result ", but this does not exclude setting up the instructions of "a sustainable project , so that it lasts; systemic; and on a large scale, so that it is applied throughout the school structure".

Regarding the distractions that can occur in the classroom due to the presence of new technologies, Kampylis explained that distractions "have always existed in the classroom" and that "ICTs are a means for new pedagogical practices, for example, using a virtual laboratory from a classroom in Navarra, but they are not the end of the face-to-face Education ".

Iribas announces 'El libro blanco de las TIC' (ICT white book)

Minister Iribas, who in his speech clarified that "having new electronic devices is not the same as equipping schools with skill digital to use them", took the opportunity to announce that he has commissioned the preparation of the 'White Paper on ICT and Education in Navarra', which will be published in a few months, as well as a workshop of good practices in public and subsidized schools in Navarra "so that we can all know how each one is working".

The course has been coordinated by Ángel Sanz, Head of Section of assessment of department of Education of the Government of Navarra; Gabriel Rubio, Head of ICT and Projects Section of department of Education of the Government of Navarra; and Sonia Lara, Director of department of Learning and Curriculum Design of School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra.
