Science and business join hands for the seventh consecutive year.
The Diploma in management and Business Creation in Science begins with twenty students who will develop their own business idea.

This coming Saturday, September 28, marks the start of the 7th edition of Diploma management Entrepreneurship in the Sciences, an initiative of the School of Science in partnership the European Business and Innovation Center of Navarra (CEIN), which aims to train young scientists in the area .
“The goal program is for students at the School of Science develop the professional skills most in demand by organizations, acquire basic knowledge of management , discover the biotech industry as an attractive career path, and be able to launch their own business idea,” says Cristina Martínez Cabañas, manager the School of Science the University of Navarra.
The course is focused on enabling participants to develop their own professional skills in the management business, from knowing how to make a marketing and sales plan in a business; interpret a balance sheet and an income statement; and discover the global vision of the Departments of a company.
"Students will learn to detect problems in organizations and propose alternatives to achieve the best solution for the business. They will discover business as a whole, valuing all Departments with a global vision," adds Martínez Cabañas.
The methodology of the course is eminently internship and training involves active professionals from companies in Science as well as from the European Business and Innovation Center of Navarra (CEIN) with sessions and tutoring of work.
This 65-hour diploma will be held on several Saturday mornings throughout the academic year open to Degrees, master’s, and doctorate students area sciences. “The Diploma science students to develop the skills most in demand by companies and to contribute to innovation. It broadens students’ horizons: beyond the scientist in a lab coat, in laboratory in the field, there is a professional future linked to business, businessnotes Inmaculada Pascual, associate dean of the School of Science.
The group Gorria wins the 2019 edition with a project on wine quality.Last year the winning project was developed by group Gorria formed by the students Maria Perez (Biochemistry ), Vanesa Aguirre (Biochemistry ), Carmen Monreal (Chemistry+Biochemistry ) and Marian Piñero (Chemistry+Biochemistry ). The Gorria team proposed a polymer capable of eliminating excess tannins from wine to increase its quality.
"The aim of this Diploma is to reproduce an approach to what entrepreneurs who start up a start-up experience, obviously in a less prolonged way. It is important that there are initiatives that bring knowledge, science, to the market through start-ups", says Fernando Baztán, member of CEIN.
