In this episode, historian Alfredo Méndiz immerses us in the details of the life of Salvador Canals, one of the first members of Opus Dei. Like other young men born around 1920, Canals collaborated with St. Josemaría Escrivá in the expansion of Opus Dei beyond Spain's borders in the years after the war.
Canals, in addition to being a priest of Opus Dei, stood out as a canonist and auditor of the Rota. His versatility was manifested in various fields, as he also distinguished himself as an expert in film pastoral, publisher and renowned spiritual author.
Alfredo Méndiz holds a doctorate in history and is Deputy Director of the St. Josemaría Escrivá Historical Institute (ISJE). Méndiz is the author of numerous research works, including biographies of Salvador Canals and Tomás Alvira.
