Elena Sánchez Campayo has been dedicated to Human Nutrition and Dietetics for more than 10 years. She studied in Madrid and when she finished, she decided to have her first work experience: "I was working for a year for a private business , so I got my first salary, I had my first schedule, my first patients... At that time I realized that I wanted to complement my academic training , so I investigated which postgraduate program I was more interested in and I decided for the Master's Degree European in Food, Nutrition and Metabolism (E-MENU) of the University of Navarra. Without a doubt, it was one of the best experiences I have ever had".
Elena Sánchez confesses that thanks to the experience provided by Master's Degree she was able to obtain a scholarship from teaching (to teach workshops and practices, prepare material...) and research to collaborate in various projects with scientific articles, book chapters, etc. at the School Pharmacy and Nutrition. "Thus I was able to further deepen my training and experience in the health field, until working in the Oncology Day Hospital of the Clínica Universidad de NavarraI was also able to contribute a nutritional approach ".
Sanchez then completed the doctorate in Health Sciences at the CEU San Pablo University, an experience that was "hard but worthwhile".
She currently works at the Madrid headquarters of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, as a nutritionist doctor at the department of Endocrinology and Nutrition. "From my experience, I think it is important not to stop collaborating and working at the same time as you are studying," she says. "I think our profession is advancing very fast and it is in our interest to be updated to be good professionals in our field."
