The Sports Service of the University of Navarra has organized a solidarity watercolorexhibition , with the goal to raise funds for sports scholarships. The proceeds will go entirely to students of the University who are participating in the Sports Talent Program.

Rafael Adarraga, engineer and former professor at the University of Navarre, has donated his collections "Watercolors of the School of ArchitectureUniversity, has donated his collections "Watercolors of the University Campus ", "Sea" and "Villages of Navarra" to Sports Service so that anyone who wants to collaborate with young talent can acquire one of his works.

We talked to the artist and he told us why he decided to join this initiative.

Rafael Adarraga, former professor at the School of Architecture

It is not the first time that his paintings are put on sale for a charitable purpose. On this occasion, what will the profits from your watercolors be used for?
The profits will be used entirely to pay for sports scholarships for students at the University of Navarra.

Why did you decide to support sports through art?
It runs in my family. The Adarraga's always try to support sports, it is worth it. Even more, when it comes to young people whose goal is not only the sport of high performing, but to take forward a university degree program .

Why encourage people to buy these paintings?
Because I think it is important that we all, in one way or another, support the sport. Also, by purchasing one of these watercolors, we also get involved in art, another discipline worth supporting.

Javier Trigo, director of the University of Navarra's Sports Service

How did you come up with the idea of organizing a solidarity exhibition from Sports Service? What will the profits be used for?
Professor Rafael Adarraga offered his partnership to Sports Service, through his paintings, to help a university cause. We thought it could be a good moment to raise some funds to help some of the athletes of Sports Talent Program who need it, and even to encourage others who, wanting to study at the University of Navarra, cannot do it due to lack of economic resources. Therefore, the benefits obtained with this initiative will be used to cover some of the needs of the Talento Deportivo athletes.

Where and how can these paintings be purchased?
The paintings will be on display(virtually) from October 17 until December 30. There you can see the 53 works that make up the exhibition and buy them online from anywhere in the world. At Sports Service we are in charge of delivering them to the buyers' homes.

Why encourage people to collaborate?
First of all, because it has always been said that "it gives more joy to give than to receive" and because it is a way to collaborate in the development of the talent of young people who are studying at the University of Navarra. People who have studied at the University know how important it is to support these young people. In addition, as a small "award" they will take a wonderful watercolor with which to keep in mind the campus where they studied, as most of the paintings show some of its corners.
