Alfonso Berlanga, professor of the School of Theology at the University of Navarra, has published Año litúrgico, source de espiritualidad, together with Adolfo Ivorra Robla, priest and professor at the Centro de programs of study Teológicos de León.

The document, edited by the Centre de Pastoral Litúrgica, gathers the main aspects of the seasons that make up the liturgical year, completed with the historical notes of each one of them, as well as a commentary on the basic lines that make them up. Professor Berlanga points out that in it "one can find both theological and spiritual or pastoral commentaries, presenting each of these facets. These commentaries, moreover, are often justified with texts from the liturgy itself".

As he says, the goal of the publication is to bring to light "the treasures of spirituality" contained in the liturgical year, with its seasons and feasts: "We Christians live the season like our fellow citizens, but in watchful expectation and in communion with the risen Jesus. The Church has chosen this pedagogy to help her faithful deepen their faith and their following of Christ. The historical documentation and liturgical explanations help to know 'with data' the roots of these traditions".

The document is addressed to the baptized, without exception. And it will be of financial aid for priests, catechists and other pastoral agents who want to help others to be introduced to the truths of the faith that the Liturgical Year revives.
