The School of Architecture launches a Degree on design

The new degree program will be taught in bilingual modality from the next academic year 2016-17 and will have three mentions: in product, fashion and services.

The School of Architecture University of Navarra has launched a new Degree in design that will begin to be taught next academic year 2016-2017. The new academic programs will be bilingual English-Spanish, and will have three mentions in design of product, design of fashion and design of services. Its goal is to give a university training to some programs of study that traditionally do not have it, as well as to respond to a demand from companies, where design has become an important value.

The new Degree at design "is a proposal of the University to the world of the creative industry", says the director of the School of Architecture, Miguel Ángel Alonso del Val. It is "a commitment to the future, internationally oriented, that provides the student with a high cultural level, and establishes connections with the world of business. Thus, the work at the end of Degree will be held in companies and institutions".

The aim is to provide students with a high cultural level, technical skills and a mastery of creative processes that will enable them to assume the leadership of design teams in a post-industrial society.

Likewise, according to Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero, President of the University of Navarra, this Degree is part of "a firm commitment of the University of Navarra to creativity. sample of this are, for example, the ISEM Fashion Business School in Madrid, the University of Navarra Museum, the doctoral program in Applied Creativity and, recently, the incorporation of the new Degrees in design and Marketing".

The Study program of Degree at design offers students the possibility to specialize through three specializations: product, fashion and services. In the accredited specialization of design Product, the student will acquire knowledge and techniques necessary to design and develop creative and innovative products from agreement to demand and production needs.

partnership The accredited specialization of design de Moda, designed in close collaboration with the ISEM Fashion Business School of the University of Navarra, aims to provide the student with the necessary skills to conceive a fashion product: from learning the classic pattern making to 3D modeling and prototyping, the communication strategies of a brand or tasks of management and management.

The design of Services will provide the basic knowledge to conceive, develop and execute a service of diverse nature, from an event to an image campaign. The student will plan lighting systems, furniture, ephemeral architecture, risk prevention, advertising, etc. To achieve this, tools and techniques from various disciplines will be used, such as architecture, plastic arts, anthropology, psychology or communication.

The Degree at design is a bilingual Degree , which is taught the first year exclusively in English. In addition to the bilingual teaching , it includes several stays in the main design capitals of the world.
