Mónica Sepúlveda studied a year ago the Master's Degree in Biodiversity, Landscapes and Sustainable management . The specialization helped her to know that she wanted to focus her professional future on research. Now she is doing the doctorate on the assessment and the management of environmental impact and air pollution in outdoor and indoor spaces.

What has the Master's Degree in Biodiversity, Landscapes, and Sustainable management contributed to your current work?
From the knowledge acquired in the MBPGS, and from the work that I did as a final project , I was able to join the laboratory of Environmental Quality, LICA, of the University of Navarra to continue with my doctorate. The multidisciplinarity of Master's Degree broadens the perspective one has on the environment and provides tools to apply that vision in the workplace or in future research.

How do you apply the knowledge you have acquired in your day-to-day work?
In the second module of the MBPGS, topics are taught based on methods and techniques that will later be used to evaluate and manage the environment. From this module I focused my work end of Master's Degree to which I am giving continuity in my thesis , which addresses the assessment and management of environmental impact and air pollution in outdoor and indoor spaces.

In your opinion, what are the strengths of postgraduate program?
What makes this Master's Degree special is that it provides a global and transversal vision of the different environmental issues that concern us today. It is structured in such a way that the first approach is to the environment to be studied -analysis of landscapes "in situ" with field trips to different environments in Navarra-, and then provides the tools to improve its management. Finally, we sample concrete cases derived from this application.

In addition, the Master's Degree has managed to link professionals from different disciplines interested in providing a approach that includes the environmental component as a transversal axis. In this way, interdisciplinary teams have been formed that lead to a better management of the environment in professional life. These experts, who come from different disciplines, transmit their knowledge and experiences from the approach of the research and the application internship in concrete cases.

Finally, postgraduate program offers the possibility of taking a course in ecology at one of the best universities in the world in this field: the University of California, Berkeley.
