Marisa Poncela, General Director of Innovation and Competitiveness of the Ministry of Economics, participated in the VI workshop of research in Experimental and Health Sciences of the University of Navarra.
During his speech, he presented to the researchers the Spanish Science and Innovation Strategy 2013-2020, which aims to achieve"business leadership and a internationalization that improves competitiveness".
According to the director general,"at this time, it does not make sense that in each region, in each autonomous community or in each university there are the same centers or lines of research andthat all of them are excellent. Resources must be optimized and prioritized". Poncela advocated a greater public-private relationship and partnership . "The challenge is to promote technology transfer between the university and the business and toincrease private investment in research and development," he said.
Marisa Poncela explained that the Spanish strategy of research and development+i is structured in several axes: promote a favorable environment and a culture of science, technology and innovation; favoring the transfer and management of knowledge; generating talent; internationalization; and integration and coordination with the territorial development policies of the regions.
67 oral and poster presentations poster
The VI workshop of research in Experimental and Health Sciences closed with a balance of 67 oral presentations and in the form of poster, compared to 53 last year, by doctoral students from the Schools of Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing and the research center Applied Medicine (CIMA).
The award for the best oral presentation was awarded to Johann Martínez Lüscher for his work on the effects of ultraviolet radiation on the Tempranillo grape variety. For their part, the prizes for the best communications in the form of poster went to: Tamara Iglesias, best communication of the area of Medicines and Drug Technology; María Larriva, best communication of the area of research Biomedical; Elena Ojer, best communication of the area of Biology and Environment; Xabier Bengoetxea, best communication of the area of Food, Lifestyles and Health; and María Dulce Pérez, best communication of the area of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
