Theologians and canonists respond to 150 media requests from the Withdrawal of Benedict XVI to Francis' enthronement Mass

From the Withdrawal of Benedict XVI (11/02/2013) to the enthronement Mass of Francis (19/03/2013), there have been about 150 media requests handled by experts from the Schools of Theology y Canon Law of the University of Navarra. About thirty of them took place between the night of the election of the new Pope (March 13) and the following day.
Of the total number of applications, around 20 are from international media such as the Wall Street JournalRadio France International, the Chilean newspapers El Mercurio y La Tercerathe Mexican newspaper El UniversalBBC Mundo, Associated Press, Univisión and the Romanian Press Agency, among others.
Of the one hundred or so transactions with the national media, mention should be made of those with various television stations, including Antena 3, La 1, La 2 and Intereconomía TV; the agencies Europa Press, EFE and Colpisa; radio stations such as SER, COPE, Punto Radio and Radio Nacional de España; and newspapers such as El País and Vocento's regional newspapers, leaders in their provinces.
Requests from about 30 local media and a dozen digital media were also attended.
Also noteworthy are the thirty or so articles published in newspapers such as El Mundo, ABC, La Razón, La Tercera (Chile) and in agencies such as Colpisa -from group Vocento-.
Session for journalists in Madrid
On February 26, the External Communications Service organized a training session for journalists at the headquarters of the University of Navarra in Madrid, which was attended by 35 media professionals.
It was presented at position by María Blanco, professor at School of Law; Pablo Blanco, professor at School of Theology; Javier Otaduy, professor at School of Canon Law; and Andrés Martínez Esteban, professor at the San Dámaso Ecclesiastical University.
The goal was to offer journalists key information about the Pope's Withdrawal , the conclave celebration and the challenges of the new Pontiff, as well as to resolve their doubts, in order to help them in their news coverage.
