1,000 volunteers and 82 associations are collaborating with Tantaka this year.
The University's Solidarity Time Bank celebrates the University's Time Bank Day volunteer activities
The University of Navarra celebrated the Day of the volunteer activities with an event in which more than 300 people participated , including volunteers and professionals from different associations in Pamplona.
With this initiative, Tantaka, the Solidarity Time Bank of the academic center, wanted to show its gratitude to the 1,000 volunteers, including students, professors, employees and citizens of Pamplona; as well as to the 82 Navarre associations with which they have collaborated throughout the course; and to the University services in which people with disabilities do internships through the Tantaka Inclusion program.
Tomás Gómez-Acebo, Vice President , was in charge of welcoming the participants, to whom he showed his support: "Our goal is to help those who help". He also encouraged the students to be "agitators of volunteer activities" and to communicate "the benefits of making life difficult".
Solidarity campaignsAmong the solidarity campaigns that Tantaka has carried out since September, the following are worth mentioning XII Solidarity Study Olympiadwhich raised 37,412 euros; the collection of pens for the Dravet Syndrome Foundation; the Christmas CampaignThe Christmas Campaign, in which 340 toys and 2,000 kilos of food and clothing were collected; the support of volunteers in the Pamplona Food Bank's Great Food Collection, held in November; volunteer actionswith people with disabilities and the actions of volunteer activities social.
In addition, throughout these months, Tantaka has implemented three courses of training, in which 389 people have participated: Training to understand disability, Course of social volunteer activities and Course of cooperation to development.
