Dr. Matías Ávila, member of the board of Government of the association Española para el Estudio del Hígado

The Dr. Matías Áviladirector of the Hepatology Program at the Centre for Applied Medical Research (CIMA) of the University of Navarra, has been appointed member of the board of Government of the University of Navarra. association Spanish Society for the Study of the Liver (AEEH). This is the scientific and medical society of Spanish hepatologists, which promotes the partnership of scientists and physicians for the study of liver diseases. Dr. Avila is the only basic researcher member of the board of this association.
Full Professor from Biochemistry of the School of Medicine of the University of Navarra, as researcher studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms of liver disease progression. Specifically, he focuses on identifying new protective strategies and therapeutic targets to slow down the development of cirrhosis and liver cancer.
Dr. Avila is publisher an associate of GutHe has been a member of committee publishing house of the British Society of Gastroenterology and has been a member of the journals Hepatology y Journal of Hepatology. For the last three years he has also been a member of the board Governing Board of the association European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL). He is currently a member of the committee advisor Scientist of the high school National Cancer Center of France for the Bordeaux-Aquitaine region.
