FECYT presents a guide of good practices in the edition of scientific journals.
The publication consists of nine chapters written by editors, publishers or editors-in-chief of Spanish journals in different fields
The University of Navarra has hosted today the presentation of guide of good practices in the edition of scientific journals, edited by FECYT (Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology). The event was attended by Cristina González Copeiro, director of department of management of FECYT's Scientific Information; María Ángeles Coslado, manager of project of support for the professionalization of scientific journals of FECYT; and Víctor Sanz, director of the Library Service of the University of Navarra.
Three of the authors of this publication have also participated: Juan Aréchaga, director of The international Journal of Development Biology, Ramón Cantó, publisher of the International Journal of Sports Sciences (RICYDE); Ignacio Arellano, director of the University of Navarra's journal La Perinola and Laura Pastor, manager of the management publishing house of the Revista General de Administrative Law.
The book is made up of nine chapters written by directors, editors or chief editors of Spanish journals of recognized quality and prestige in their different areas of knowledge, such as La Perinola, Comunicar, The International Journal of Development Biology, El Profesional de la Información, Revista Española de Cardiología, RICYDE, Cuadernos de Turismo, Psychosocial Intervention and Revista General de Administrative Law.
All of them propose a series of examples of good practices that have been implemented in the publishing of scientific journals and tell of their experiences at the head of their respective publications, the difficulties they have had to face and the evolution of the scientific journal publishing sector.
