A team from the University's research center in Nutrition, issue 1 in Spain in scientific productivity.

The researchers evaluated by CIBERobn have published 61 articles in the world's highest impact journals in the field of nutrition and obesity.

A group of scientists from the research center in Nutrition of the University of Navarra, headed by the Full Professor of Nutrition Alfredo Martínez, has been valued as the one with the highest scientific productivity in Spain by the research center Biomédica en network Fisiopatología de la Obesidad y Nutrición (CIBERobn).

This network, which encompasses 31 groups located in the main centers of research in Spain, annually evaluates the work of all the nodes on obesity and nutrition. In its latest report corresponding to 2015, the group of the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition is recognized as the one with the highest scientific productivity with 61 publications, 29 of them placed in the first quartile -where the most prestigious of each area- are located. Among the publications are Obesity Reviews, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Human Molecular Genetics, New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Reviews.

The internship totality of the articles have been the result of the partnership between the groups belonging to CIBERobn, universities and centers of research national and international, located in Europe, USA and Latin America.

thesis During this period, 7 doctoral defenses have also been held at group, formed by researchers Itziar Abete Goñi, Pedro González Muniesa, Amelia Martí del Moral, Jose Alfredo Martínez (PI of group), Fermín Ignacio Milagro Yoldi, María Jesús Moreno Aliaga, Santiago Navas Carretero and Mª Ángeles Zulet Alzorriz.

This team focuses its work on the field of obesity and on the role that precision nutrition can play in the approach to the disease, taking into account both the individual's Genetics and previous ailments, preferences, internship habitual sports, gastronomic culture; as well as nutridynamics, functional foods, biomarkers and personalized nutrition.
