The quotation with the Palestinian expert in bioinformatics will take place on October 27 at the Research Building
Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 27th, the director of the Unit of research and training in Biotechnology of the Palestinian Polytechnic University of Hebron, Yaqoub Ashhab, will participate in a seminar on Microbiology that will take place in the Research Building of the University of Navarra, invited by the School of Sciences.
With a lecture entitled "Developing a new bioinformatic tool to perform high-throughput analysis and comparison of bacterial proteoms", Ashhab will explain the new Microbiology project in which he is involved and which is currently being tested and optimized.
Ashhab is a biologist from the Middle East Technical University of Turkey (1990). He did his postdoc on molecular biology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1994-1998), where he worked on cytokines and their role in autoimmune thyroid disease.
Since 2005 he is director of the Unit of research and training in Biotechnology of the Palestine Polytechnic University of Hebron, from where he seeks to develop a network of research in bioinformatics to study the molecular mechanisms involved in programmed cell death, as well as to analyze microbial genomes to develop new vaccines and methods of early diagnosis.
