Last Saturday, the 17th, the University's Amigos Building hosted the eighth edition of the Forum of the University of Navarra (FORUN), an annual congress of students and for students, which seeks to dialogue and reflexionar about university values and other issues affecting society. This year, under the degree scroll "Rethinking the future," nearly 480 professors and students from different Schools participated.

ISSA-School of Management Assistants was represented by two groups.

Marta Leoz (ISSA '21), Gabriela Burotto (ISSA '21), Leire Jimeno (ISSA '21) and María de la Hera (ISSA '21), first year students of Degree in Management Assistant, presented their work "Cuida tu futuro", supervised by Professor María Jesús Sanz.

In audiovisual format, they wanted to address a problem that exists today: the status of the environment. "We chose this approach because it is a topic that is very much in vogue and to which we do not give enough importance. We think that our resources are unlimited, but we must take care of the environment now, so that in the future it will not be our children who live in a dirty world, as a consequence of our carelessness or bad actions", they explain.

In addition to delving deeper into this issue, they provided possible solutions so that our planet does not suffer irreversible damage. As they say, "during this time, we have learned that it is time to do something about it, because our planet is getting worse faster and faster and we are not even aware of it. If we continue like this, in the future there will be practically nothing left of the nature we know today".

During these seven months of work, they have had the support of María Jesús Sanz, professor at ISSA-School of Management Assistants: "Throughout the whole process, up to presentation of the video on congress, she has helped us a lot and has tried to make our experience a positive one. Her support has been constant and we are very grateful to her," they say.

Participation in the congress FORUN involves effort, time and dedication, however, they do not hesitate to recommend the experience to other students: "It is something that every student should experience during their time at the University. Participating in activities like this makes you enjoy and learn a lot. In addition, there are always interesting and topical issues that make us reflect and keep us up to date with issues that affect our future".

Ana Santos (ISSA '21), Marta Elgorriaga (ISSA '21), Marina Martínez (ISSA '21), Pamela Young (ISSA '21), Sara García (ISSA '21) and Ainhoa Mayor (ISSA '21) are also first-year students at Degree in Management Assistants. They are the members of the other group that represented ISSA - School of Management Assistants at the congress FORUN. Coordinated by Professor Anabel Martínez, they also presented a work in audiovisual format.

Under the degree scroll "The future of work according to technology", they analyzed how artificial intelligence has made some jobs evolve and how it will continue to do so in the future: "We focused our work on the Cleaning sector. Two people close to us could tell us their testimonies and we were interested in investigating and getting to know topic in a deeper way."

All agree that congress has brought them many positive things. As they say, "we have learned to put our ideas together and to work as a team. In addition, we have been able to improve our public speaking skills, which is something we sometimes find difficult. Participating in FORUN has given us the opportunity to spend many good moments together.

During this time, the teacher Ana Belén Martínez has coordinated the work of these six students, a financial aid that they are very grateful for: "We have been very happy and we have worked very well with her. In addition, she has given us many ideas and has helped us to deliver everything on time".

For all these reasons, they say that participating in FORUN has been a very positive experience: "Thanks to this congress, we have been able to deepen and learn more about a very specific topic and, at the same time, we have been able to cooperate with our colleagues in the realization of the project. It is an enriching experience in many aspects".
