The School of Pharmacy of the University of Navarra has received the Institutional Medal of the Complutense University of Madrid. This distinction was awarded to the School on the occasion of its thirty-fifth anniversary (1964-99).

Itziar Vélaz, director of programs of study of this School, points out that this award was also delivered to the Schools of Pharmacy of Montpellier, Tokyo, Lille and Coimbra.

The event was chaired by Professor Javier Puerta Fonollá, Vice President of Departments and Centers of the Complutense, who also made submission to Itziar Vélaz of the corresponding diploma .

For the dean of the School of Pharmacy of the University of Navarra, Professor Edurne Cenarruzabeitia, "it is a source of joy and an honor for us to receive this medal from a center of the prestige and history of the Complutense University, whose School of Pharmacy has just turned 150 years old and has been the cradle of prestigious scientists, so we have to feel proud and satisfied to receive this distinction".

As to whether this recognition will favor the partnership between both Schools, Professor Cenarruzabeitia explains that "the relationship is already very close because in Spain there is a very fluid communication between the Schools of Pharmacy. But, undoubtedly, the submission of this medal can promote a greater partnership".
