The School of Philosophy and Letters celebrates the Day of its patron saint, Saint Isidore of Seville.

Students, professors and other professionals of the School of Philosophy and Letters have gathered, one more year, to commemorate their patron saint, St. Isidore of Seville. The workshop began with the celebration of a mass. The award winners were: Antonio Chacón (Philosophy), Jaime García Ortega (Humanities) -who spoke on behalf of the awardees-, Miren Agirregomezkorta (Philology), Ane Urrizburu (History), María Pérez Ibáñez (Literature and Creative Writing) and Alejandro Lecumberri (PPE).

With this distinction, the Foundation wanted to recognize and thank him for his work and promotion of reading, literature and writing among more than 8,500 young people in Spain, Mexico and Peru, through the Literary Excellence Program, which this year celebrates its 20th edition, and whose conference annually hosts the School.

degree scroll Likewise, the scholarship of Honor was awarded posthumously to Professor Rafael Alvira, Full Professor emeritus , who passed away on February 4. Professor Raquel Lázaro, a disciple of Professor Alvira, was in charge of collecting it to give it to his family, and of reading a semblance in which she recalled how Professor Alvira, teacher of so many generations of philosophers, was able to write in the souls.

The workshop continued in the afternoon with various recreational activities.
